Why this filter?

Context:

For the release of their album “Apelogies” celebrating their 15 year career, the French group of alternative rock Shaka Ponk came up with the idea of ​​creating a filter to turn his fans into GOZ, the group’s iconic mascot. A very punk monkey who comes to take over his place in a world from which men have excluded him.

The filter:


The user is transformed into a Monkey thanks to the deformation of the face. It is also possible to modify the size of the mouth thanks to a slider or to tap on the screen to display a makeup. The challenge was to be able to allow everyone to use this filter as naturally as possible, which is why a technique was used to allow to set the color of the monkey’s elements to the color of the user’s skin (to gain in realism and especially in quality of use). The Monkey Me filter also makes part of the “Funky Junky Monkey” music video !
